For over ten years, Luke Healy invested all of his self-esteem into his career as a graphic novelist. Then, overnight, his career just vanished. Spiralling, and left without a purpose, he searches for identity in self-help books, replacement jobs, and human connection. Set against the backdrop of a changing global climate, Self-Esteem and The End of The World follows Luke across two decades of tragi-comic self-discovery - visiting cheesy British hotels, Hollywood movie sets, and abandoned Greek islands. As icecaps melt, and cities flood, Luke tries in vain to answer the question -who can you possibly be at the end of the world?
